Do you have any dates left for 2015?

I do have a few dates remaining for 2015 and I’m looking to get them filled. Please contact me to see if I’m available on your wedding date.

I’m getting married in 2016, are you taking bookings for 2016 yet?

Absolutely, in fact I’m taking bookings for 2016, 2017 and beyond. I recommend that once you’ve got your venue confirmed you book your other wedding services as soon as possible to ensure you get your preferred suppliers, that includes your photographer.

As with other photographers I allocate dates on a first come first served basis, so the sooner you book the better chance you have that I’ll be free on your chosen date.

Do you only photograph weddings in Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire?

I’m based in Leek, Staffordshire, but I cover the whole of the UK. Most of my work is naturally in Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire, including Leek, Biddulph, Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Stone, Stafford, Eccleshall, Market Drayton, Macclesfield, Congleton, Nantwich, Sandbach, Knutsford, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Stockport, Buxton, Longnor, Bakewell, Matlock, Ashbourne and Uttoxeter. Travel costs to these locations, and everywhere in between, are included in my wedding prices.

What is your photography style?

I love natural photos that capture the events and emotions of the day. I’ll take some group shots (if you want them – we can discuss that beforehand) and we’ll take some time out together to capture some special moments of the two of you together. However, for the most part I’ll be capturing the day as it unfolds in a candid, emotive way.

Can we meet you beforehand?

Absolutely, I like to meet couples before booking to discuss what you are looking for (I’m no salesman, so you won’t get any hard sell from me), then again about a month before the big day to discuss plans for the wedding day, what group shots you want, any other VIPs that you want me to ‘capture’, that kind of thing. On top of that I always aim to do a venue visit before the big day (depending on location) and will always do my very best to attend your wedding rehearsal provided I’m available.

How do we book you for our wedding day?

Well, we need to be sure I’m free on your wedding day, so the first thing to do is contact me and check my availability. The next step is for us to have a conversation, either over the phone or ideally in person to discuss what you’re looking for and have a look at some samples, etc. A £100 deposit will then guarantee that I’m there on your big day and no-one else can book me for that day.

Will you bring back-up equipment on the day?

One of the things you’re paying for is the certainty that if there’s any kind of technical failure of equipment (it can happen) I’ll have backup kit on hand to make sure that your photographs don’t suffer. I always shoot with two professional camera bodies and a selection of professional lenses, plus I carry multiple memory cards and spare batteries, so if anything should happen on the day I’ll have the backup equipment on hand to ensure that I can just keep on shooting.

How many photographs will I receive?

Typically I provide 200 – 400 photographs. If you are having an album you will receive these as proofs to choose from for your album. If you’ve gone for the digital package you will receive a disc / USB of these images as high resolution jpegs.

Who owns the copyright?

I own the copyright for the images. However, if you go for the digital package (or have the USB / disc as an extra item on top of your album) then you’ll get a release so you can do whatever you want with the images for personal use, although not for commercial purposes.

Can we choose the images that go into our album?

Absolutely. Some photographers insist on selecting the images that go into the album and the bride and groom don’t get a say… I know… Craziness…

Who will design our album?

I’ll provide you with a set of proofs from which to select the images that will go into your album. I’ll then take these away and design the album. Once I’m happy that the design is perfect I’ll contact you again to make sure you agree. If you want some changes to the design I’ll make them before sending it for printing.

What do I have to pay and when?

I ask for a £100 non-refundable deposit to secure the day at the time of booking.  The next payment is 50% of the fee 6 months before the wedding date, and the balance one month before the big day.

Are you insured?

I most certainly am. I have both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance and have the certificates to prove it.
