My name is Andy Mellor and I am a professional wedding photographer.
I’m married to Cat and we have a pet boxer dog named Rocco. We live in Leek, Staffordshire, very near the borders with Derbyshire and Cheshire and on the very edge of the Peak District National Park. It’s a cracking little town set in some of the most stunning scenery this country has to offer.
A brief history of me: I lived the first few years of my life in Kendal, Cumbria before doing most of my growing up in Stoke-on-Trent. I studied at Nottingham University before moving to Leek. After university I worked for a decade in Financial Services, focussing on strategy, planning and project management.
My interests are varied. As a professional wedding photographer you won’t be surprised to hear that photography features prominently and dates back to my childhood. My first job (not counting my distinguished career as Stoke-on-Trent’s pre-eminent paperboy) was working weekends in a photographic lab and I continued working in photographic labs to help fund my way through university.
Other interests include walking with Cat and Rocco. The Peak District is great and we also love walking along cold, windy beaches in Winter, the bleaker the better (although there aren’t too many beaches near Leek). We’re also hoping to walk the Coast-to-Coast in the next year or two.
I love sports, although I don’t play much these days. I watch them whenever I can get control of the telly and have developed an interest in the major American sports, particularly the Chicago-based teams, but I won’t bore you with that here…
One of my other passions is supporting the Chernobyl Children’s Project, a charity that helps children in Belarus still suffering the effects of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.
Other than that I love films, I sing karaoke badly, I love to read and, in case you’ve forgotten, I take awesome pictures (did I mention I’m a professional wedding photographer?)…
So that’s a bit about me and my background. If you want to know more about me, what I do and how I do it I’d love to hear from you. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org or you can call me on 07791 519189. Alternatively you can use the form on the contact page.
